Debbie has served as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator at St. Luke Lutheran for the past five years. She runs the Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, plans fun family activities, and supervises the church nursery. Prior experiences include teaching preschool for three years and nine years as an elementary classroom teacher. Debbie graduated from Naches Valley High School (1985), completed her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Reading at Eastern Washington University (1989) and received a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Portland State University(1998).

Debbie grew up in the Yakima area with two brothers on a small apple orchard. She was active in her church and school, and involved in 4-H. Her parents still reside there.

Debbie is married and has two children. She is a Girl Scout leader and enjoys scrapbooking, reading, camping, walking her dog, and time with family and friends. Debbie is a champion for placing God’s Word into the hands and hearts of the children of the St. Luke congregation.
